I got saved February 27th 1993, at 11:pm and I will never forget that day. I won't bore you with the details other than to say it was sudden and miraculous, I never saw it coming. I had always believed there was a God but never knew I could know Him personally. My life changed so dramatically in one night, so much so my brothers and close friends thought I went crazy. Soon enough I had a Church family and was growing.
I just could not get enough of God's Word. The problem was then that the internet was not available. From very early on I have known God had a call on my life. I asked my Pastor if he had a Bible study curriculum I could study with. He did but it was just not adequate. What I really wanted was to be able to attend a Seminary. Problem was as a working man could never put the time and money together. Now all these years later, still don't. I'm not rich, I'm not poor, just broke. You know the bills, car payments, kids, on and on and...
Anyway, I finally found a fantastic curriculum. It's structured so any layman anywhere in the world can study. It is avilable for free to all registered users. The idea is to study them in order of apperaence then take the final exam to test what you have learned. If you pass the Final Exam you will receive a Certificate of Completion by e-mail which can be printed. This certificate only holds value to you and will give you a sense of accomplishment. In the future I hope to make it so that one could be ordained to the ministry by completing all courses succesfully.
I would encourage those that are using the Bible studies as lessons to teach others to use the Final exams as well. When your students pass the final you could present the certificates in a cerimony possibly.
